I teach Absolute Beginner Line Dancing at Heritage Park Senior Center in Henderson, Nevada. Although I have been dancing a number of years, I feel strongly that there needs to be classes that accommodate those that have never danced or those with limited physical capacities. I feel everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy movement to music and fun social time shared with others. My class is designed and instructed with this purpose in mind.
Prior to teaching dance, I was a teacher of Science for thirty six years. I enjoyed the challenge of making whatever I taught fun, engaging, and hands on. Retirement made me bored! I needed something that would continue to stimulate me mentally and keep me physically strong and healthy. Line dance instruction fits perfectly for me. I love it and it provides me with the daily mental and physical exercise I need. My doctors are always remarking on my strong heart, physical strength, and good blood work, which I believe comes from my daily line dancing. My daily research and study of various line dances keeps my brain actively engaged.
In my spare, time I travel to Line Dance Conferences throughout the United States to enhance my skills under master choreographers and instructors. These travels also provide me with interesting new dance material for my classes.
Additionally, I vacation in our recreational vehicle with my husband and five beautiful fur-babies. He and I practice our dancing on vacation providing both entertainment and frustration to those pups. I also, enjoy a variety of crafting projects that I use for gifts for my wonderful dance student/partners.
